We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Cooper Foundation to support our Pink Partner program!

The Pink Partner program was established in 2013 to address low rates of mammograms in the Waco area and to expand access to life-saving services, saving lives through early detection of breast cancer.

The program offers no cost preventive screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds and other breast health services at the Ascension Providence Breast Health Center for women who are under or uninsured.

In 2020, the Pink Partner Program served a total of 238 patients and provided 368 individual services. Since the program’s inception, 31 breast cancers have been detected. From a survey in 2020, 68 percent of women said that they would have skipped their mammogram if the Pink Partner program was not available. Since early detection of breast cancer is critical for a better patient prognosis, these survey results show just how important the Pink Partner Program is in providing life-saving care.

“We are so grateful to the Cooper Foundation for supporting our Pink Partner program,” said Jana Whitaker, Providence Foundation Executive Director. “The Pink Partner program has helped many women access mammograms and has literally saved lives.”
