Not only is this a FIRST for Waco, this is a first across the entire Ascension health system. This state-of-the-art system represents a significant step forward in our commitment to providing cutting-edge care to our patients, right here at home.
Over the last five years, the Orthopedic & Neurosciences Program has been one of our fundraising priorities based on the growing medical needs of our community. As our community grows, the Orthopedic & Neurosciences Program will continue to be a focus of our fundraising efforts to ensure we are able to provide world-class care for everyone in Waco and the surrounding areas.
What is the Globus Excelsius3D?
The Globus Excelsius3D is the world’s first 3-in-1 imaging platform, combining:
- Cone-beam CT, fluoroscopy, and digital radiography in one integrated system.
- Robotic guidance for precise placement of instruments and implants.
- Real-time navigation to visualize instrument positioning and confirm implant placement during surgery.
Why It Matters
The addition of the Globus Excelsius3D will:
- Increase accuracy, efficiency, and minimally invasive capabilities, leading to quicker recovery times and improved outcomes for our patients.
- Establish Ascension Providence as the first hospital in Central Texas to bring this advanced technology to the market.
- Enhance our Neurosciences program, giving us a competitive edge in patient care and physician recruitment.
